Christiane is owner of Villa Markisa - Dive Resort, together with Pedro Wettstein.

In Tulamben Christiane started to dive in '99, only 2.5 km away from what is now Villa Markisa. From the very first dive on, she was so fascinated, that within only 2 years she changed her whole life to dedicate it to diving and now she lives most of the time in Bali.

As an underwater photographer she quickly became hooked on nudibranchs. On Villa Markisa's house reef "Seraya Secrets" she was able to take pictures of over 300 various species. Some of her wonderful pictures are featured in "INDO-PACIFIC NUDIBRANCHS AND SEA SLUGS - A field guide to the Worlds most diverse fauna" by Terrence M.Gosliner, David W. Behrens and Angel Valdes, USA 2008.

Christane logged already over 2000 dives, most of them in Indonesia.

Co-owner of Villa Markisa - Dive Resort, together with Christiane Waldrich

Pedro, originally from Switzerland, dives since 32 years, 20 of which he was dive instructor for CMAS.

For many years he was running a dive shop where he was not only responsible for customer care, dive courses, and organising travels, but also took care of the dive gear.

The day came when Pedro was looking for warmer waters and so for 3 years he worked as a cruise director on the "Pindito", a liveaboard operating mainly in Indonesia. No wonder Pedro knows all the best dive sites all over Indonesia. Apart from Indonesia, Pedro went "under" in over 30 different countries and today he is well known as the spotter with the best eyes - no matter what you are looking for - if it is there - he will find it!
Pedro has logged 2000 freshwater and 7000 saltwater dives.
